Hello Board Friends! I'd like to get some opinions on the origin of this vase. It stands almost 9" tall. I bought it at auction recently and it came with a bunch of cranberry Fenton pieces. I thought at first that it was old but the sloppy handle application is bothering me and now I'm wondering if it might have been a later (1960's or so) Italian pitcher. Or maybe the glass worker just had an off day? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks so much!

Definitely not Italian - they never made anything like this!! - are you sure it isn't Fenton too?

Thanks, blooey. I ruled out Fenton since it's blown.

Mt. Washington made a similar, MOP cased pitcher, but I’m not good at comparing the subtle differences on glass.

Thank you INH. It's the pitchers shown in Figure 3 that I'm concerned about. It's a very helpful link.

I’m sure someone with an “EYE” for it, will be along. :)

I know I have seen this item before, but where. If I can find it again, I will come back.

The sharp pontil (unpolished, unfinished) tells me this is from the mid to late 20th century. According to Kenneth Wilson and his Mt Washington volume, little if any air-trap work was done at Mt. Washington. This resembles work done at Phoenix, but the top ruffle and the rough pontil say otherwise.
