I found these at my regular thrift store today. I showed the manager the repair that has been done to the back if one, so he sold me the pair for $50 (which from a google image search is a great price even with the repair).
I think the only thing I can do is paint the repair white to match the lamps' color - my question is what type of paint should I use?
    Enamel? Oil?
    Thank you!

My advice... Let the buyer deal with it.

You don't think painting it white would minimize it?

No. The damage is what it is.

If you do paint it be sure and let a potential buyer know so they wont think you are trying to scam. No marks anywhere ?

Paint isn't going to improve it; it's likely to just make the repair appear worse. How could you even match the color?

Kind of a sloppy repair someone did. Could you clean up some of the extra glue?

    Probably easier said than done.

If they're genuine period and not copies, someone who values them might want to professionally restore.

Seconded. Paint would just make real restoration that much harder. I say leave be.

This is what you get when you put two rams together.:nailbiting:

I agree. Looks like maybe a razor blade in a scraper would get some of that removed!
