So, I bought a lot with some Flemish jewelry a few weeks ago, and these three crosses were in it. (Ca 1860-1880 s, diamond on foil, silver, gold back).
In my country (country of origin of these crosses) you dont find these crosses often, but if you do they are usually not very expensive.
So I just buy them whenever I find them for cheap.
One cross is all original with nice quality foiled back rose cut diamonds. The second cross also has nice big stones, but it misses its complete center part.
The third cross misses its top part, its center stone and some surrounding stones.
I do happen to have a part laying around that could make a good center part for the second cross.
I m still not sure if I would pair them because the part I had laying around only has a tiny size senaille/diamond...what would you do?
For comparison I show you in the last two pictures my other Flemish crosses and a 'Vlaams Hart' to show you how some of these crosses also have a top part and others have a gold ring just like the Heart.
So...what do you think? Let the second cross be repaired or wait till I find the 'perfect' middle part?

 

It looks unusual without the central part, and you might want to be more creative with it, (since you’ve already got so many!) i.e. a different colored stone … just leave it and one day you might find the perfect component to go in.

I love these cross too, but I need to pay more than 800 euro to get one

Dessert, you lucky, lucky girl!

Wait until you find the perfect middle part, which no doubt you will. The dangle is a lovely piece, but just not the right 'fit' for the cross.

 

I agree, not the easiest background to pick out Flemish crosses from.

Dessert, please bring back the Dutch literature.

 

Sorry,but are these crosses cheap,or are you lucky to find one for 800 Euros (or both ?). Sorry to be a numbskull.

2) Shamster finds them for 800 euros, so she doesn't buy them.

 

I m sorry for the background, you guys. i had not much time and I saw some Sun, so I just put them on the window sill end went for it.

l will wait till I get a better fitted middle part, but these crosses never had colored stones, only foiled diamonds...I dont think I would ever by able to put a colored stone in one. It just would not feel right

I guess I have some Holland blood running trough my veins.
I never paid more than 400€ for a piece of jewelry (an amazing sixties Sputnik gold ring).

Much prettier though. Leopold III had a good eye for women, queen Astrid was also a beauty. There is some resemblance between the two wives, in looks at least.
