Featured Is this round cloth thing to be used for flatware?

This cloth thing is about 12" across. It is made of three layers of fabric and the layers are sewed together so that there are alternating pockets. It seems like flatware would just slide out, but what else could it be for?

I think it was meant to hold and serve dinner rolls at the table.

Put it in a basket or a bowl and put rolls in the pockets to keep them warm?

We always just put a cloth napkin in a basket and jumbled them all together! This is so much nicer. Thanks!

And so you politely only touched the roll you were taking.....& little Freddy didn't get his snotty hands all over every roll in the basket.....so that the next day everyone at the table had caught his cold !!

We used to make them in first year Home-Ec. Not that there weren't already 3 or 4 at home. :hilarious:

Just seen this. My grandmother used to make these and I still have one. For rolls, indeed.

Did you notice that this one has snaps so you can snap the rolls securely in? :D
