My ambient light is poor this time of year; the color in pics 5 & 6 is closest to accurate. It's 5 1/2" high, ~2 1/4 rim diameter, 3 1/2" foot diameter; weight is ~11 1/8 oz. Pic 7 shows some chipping at the foot, adjacent the base of the handle. The leaves are maybe nasturtium, but the lone blossom defies my meager floral understanding. In pic 1, between 2 stems, are what may be a pair of the numeral two...izzit an intentional mark, or simply a flourish? It doesn't appear to be slip-cast...I think it's thrown, mostly based on the interior bottom. The foot-rim has been nicely ground.
    Thanks for lookin'!

Looks like Art Nouveau Majolica to me but I'm no 'pottie' (or le Poteat' as the French say).

It does, and I think it speaks French. I suspect France or Belgium.

The power one does look like the cooling stack on a nuke plant! Not so sure of the jagged redware; it looks like it got its spout caught in an electrical socket.

Certainly the term is far removed from when the li'l green delight was created...an' I believe there's a scientifically correct name for that wasp-waisted shape...but beyond that, I'm a dummy. It is adequately descriptive for folks born before ~1950 though, eh?

Right on Ruth-They're both renditions of nuclear plant cooling towers. The 'National Power' one is in the shape of a parabolic cooling tower, they also made a similar hot air PR balloon.
Second Redware one's by the superb contemporary ceramicist Richard Notkin.I think it depicts a plant meltdown.
    PS-Wish I actually owned a Notkin piece.He's def not everybody's cup of tea !

I like it too. Mr Notkin did a pile of work on that.

say_it_slowly The worst prison is a closed heart

When I see green pottery with flowers I wonder if it's Japanese, Awaji style perhaps?

No idea, but in that one photo it almost looks like an impressed word.

I've been thinking corset shape, but it hasn't helped find it.

Yes, I spotted that too, sis...but under a 10X triplet there is nothing to see.

Well, on that second piece it seems he cheated! The spout appears to be identical to the first. 'Course, their size may differ, so I'll cut him a bit of slack.
