If this tests positive. Then you can happily close the year off on a bang!! Hoping for the best!

OY. Just when you think it's safe to go back in the water.... I knew about the Kashmiri pieces, but not the rest.

    good news

given it a little warm water wash and tested it, dark red indicating sterling silver

maxed out my jewellery scales, but weighs 750g on kitchen scales

doesn't actually photograph all that well, might be better against a dark background

thanks Aj, hard to know if its worth anymore than the scrap value which is £421, didn't think it would be that much

was never my plan, and will try my best to sell it first, hopefully its worth more as an item, but the silver weight/price has shocked me a little

would't feel right to scrap it though

I think Indian silver is getting quite sort after ATM but even if you find it hard to sell now in the future you just might kick yourself if you scrap it.
I have watched Indian antiques go from £0 to £1000's in the last 20 years, these could be faked but a lot of skill and silver went into making them.

Indian silver sells very well in the U.K., the diaspora and descendants love it. And it’s beautiful.

:woot: might be worth asking an auction house then as it passes the £500 threshold, can't hurt to enquire ;)

Don't scrap that. Besides, the way Indian silver is going that might surprise you at auction. You might get a LOT more than scrap.

Try Roseberys Charlie. They sell a lot of Indian art.
