Bought this spoon today. It's a large spoon about 13" long and has some hallmarks on the back. The bowl has a strange ridge down the middle. I couldn't see the hallmarks clearly at the store because I forgot my loupe. But now I see them and I don't think it's sterling. Can anybody tell me what the marks are? The marks appear to be a G, a four leaf clover and a 4 and an 8. Any help appreciated.

Hunhhh - I appreciate the work put into that site and what a valuable resource it is, but even though the owner knows me, it's not the first time my exact words have been copied & pasted into the site without my knowledge. I never mind sharing results of my research, and always glad to see correct information, but if someone can't find their own words, at least ask to use mine...

This is what was shown for Gerity not too long ago:

This is what it shows now:

My post in a silver group in September - have posted the same information before, but phrased a bit differently:

Sorry Mike, no more irritated ranting. Here's a composite with some information about your spoon:

Hi Mike - you handling the cold up there okay?

It's not about the information, I want folks to benefit from my research and acquired knowledge - what bothers me is the use of my exact words, in this case taken from a private group we both belong to, the internet has made plagiarism common practice...

Thanks, AJ! It just irked me to see that he'd done it once again, and of course I'm not the only one...

The cold was a shock to my system. Tonight, it's going down to 2 degrees. I have to laugh, because when we run out of room in the fridge, we just put whatever we need onto the sun porch to stay cool. So in essence we have a 300 sq. foot refrigerator LOL.
But I bought a nice warm coat and some boots. Not a lot of snow yet. Right now, there is about 2" of snow on the ground. The PITA is having top brush the snow off the car and scrape the ice of the windshield while warming up the car, and bundling up before leaving the house.
I was out while it was snowing yesterday. Nice big fluffy flakes....it was beautiful. (for about 5 minutes). LOL
