Just chiming in...the cutting reminds me of Tuthill and Sinclair (though the cutting on this does not seem as "fine" /intricate) . I also wonder if it could be sauce/liquid condiment bottle or barber bottle...missing the top. I , too, like the piece and if it were mine..would use it as a bud vase..! Too pretty to toss..!

Thank you ever so much for your thoughts tallcakes, Cheryl, Shiloh and janetkay! Looks like I'm going to use it as a bud vase, lol:kiss::joyful::D

Cheryl, thanks for that link. It does look very similar!! Now, it makes me realize how the top would go on too.
    Thanks all!

Suggestion: get a test tube to put inside to hold the flower stems. Easier to clean and/or replace. :)

    Hi,
Instead of buying a test tube, check with cigar smokers. I have a nephew who smokes cigars and some of them come in glass tubes. i have also asked at a cigar store for the used tubes. They are glad to give them away (less recycling).

Morning, Greg. I didn't know that! Cool! Cigar boxes are endlessly useful, as well. And from liquor stores, the tin containers for various potent potables (Morning, Mr. Trebek!) are useful for pasta. And also, from your local supermarket, plastic coffee containers instead of coffeeteasugarflour sets. If the label doesn't come off, cover it with a strip of Contact.

This is Heloise, retrieving her second cup of coffee...

I have glass cigar tubes too, I keep beads in them. I got them back in the early 70's. I didn't know they still made the glass ?
