God save the queen Brooche

    Hi lovely people of this forum,

    I found this brooche and it says God save the Queen. It caught my curiosity. Does anyone know why it says that?
    Its english i assume.

    the back says made in italy

    Maybe the owner was an atheist royalist, who lowered the anchor, and used a lot of solder, to cover the word 'God'.

    Looks like the piece may be an assemblage-cobbled together from various findings.I'm no joolie but the anchor solder seems a bit sloppy.

    That is odd. At a guess... I'd think punk-era craft jewelry. Where'd you find it and what were you told about it? Perhaps someone knowledgable will come along and date the pinback. That would be helpful.

    Made in Italy according to the back. Pure costume jewelry probably not sold in the UK.

    I would think the crowned Q was one piece and the others were added on. That would explain the crude soldering and the reason Made in Italy is obscured. Might be a piece by someone like Fiorucci which was very popular at the time.
