Picked up cheaply last weekend. Think they may have some age to em. Any thoughts on production era?

The one on the left is well marked but I can’t ID them. It’s pretty distinctly marked at that. I don't know but most of the crowned hammer marks in Stara's Pewter Marks of the World seem to be German. None like yours exactly.

Your marks don't look too old to my eye but I'm nothing close to an expert. It looks like a date maybe, 1377?1777? So many pewter marks are fake, maybe some else knows.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

And what I think I see....drawn in red....first mark- 377, second mark- D S, and third mark- 37 again. But I could also be wrong!! The SECOND image I inverted the bottom half.....makes things stand out sometimes, but also can give a different perspective.......I just noticed I forgot to put a red period between the D & S and looks to be another just after the S.....ooops!

Thanks Aqua! That’s what I saw too. I just see it clearly now that you’ve removed the rain!

Thanks for looking into the marks! I saw some hammer marks too but not mine. Since you’re searching a book and not just poking around randomly online you were able to conclude most were German. That’s a helpful conclusion. Since I don’t want to put too much time into these I’ll assume this one’s German until proven otherwise.

I think they are both pretty old but I’m on the fence about how old. Does your book ascribe an era to those marks? I only see a date next to a couple of them.

The information next to each mark is about all there is in that book which was copyrighted in 1977, so not terribly current.

There is generalized information on some countries such as this.

Very interesting!!! Shame they don’t mention 37. That’d be too easy. More good evidence for Germany though.
