    Hi All,
UPDATE: The box contained about 50 different clip-on birds. This is just the first group I'm asking about. I have another 4 groups. I did put this group on Eb auction and wasn't successful. So I'm trying to learn more.

I've just come across a box of vintage/antique blown glass ornaments filled with Clip-on birds. I have separated them into groups but I have no idea how to identify where any of them are from or the likelihood of being able to sell them. This is my first set. On most of them the clip is detached. I have them to reattach. I apologize for the pics. Resized Group A Birds #3.jpg Resized Group A Birds #8.jpg Resized Group A Birds #13.jpg

1920s/1930s Czech glass usually, but that's all I've got.

It was just a basic cardboard box.

If you look through these completed sales for similar birds with original boxes you may be able to get more of an idea about where yours are from. Some types may still available such as some Kurt Adler birds.

Just a quick look has similar birds made in Germany, West Germany, Czechoslovakia, Colombia and Japan.

Similar birds were popular in 1940-1950s in the ussr as New Year (Christmas tree) decorations. Especially valuable were the birds with clips. I had a few of them.

These are being reproduced, Don't know how to tell the difference. Those old bubble lights are also being reproduced.

I can tell in person because I grew up with the old ones and I've bought one or two new ones. The old ones tend to lose their tails because the glue goes.

There's a Facebook group called the Golden Glow of Christmas Past. These folks have a convention every year and they specialize in antique ornaments. You'll get a very good answer there.
