    Hi all.

Am wondering can anyone help me id this lamp.

The only marking i can see is on the lower rim and its the letters R D followed by numbers 301070 i think.

It measures 21 inches to top of shade.

    Thanks for any help 20241207_145426_resize_96.jpg 20241207_145438_resize_67.jpg 20241207_145450_resize_41.jpg 20241207_145502_resize_18.jpg 20241207_145518_resize_78.jpg 20241207_145529_resize_24.jpg 20241207_145537_resize_76.jpg

That’s a British registry number for 1935 into 1936, and I’m trying to remember who did pots with those applied leaves.

    That's quite modern-looking for the 30s.

Agree. Of course, the shade isn't original.

Some of our thirties stuff looks very contemporary.

    See also Christopher Dresser.

    Which chart did you use?

I would think it 1970s. And that red switch doesn't look right for 1930s.

So, the earlier mold was used for a 1970s plaster repro?

I take it back, it’s the late nineteenth number, which is really weird.

I’d not take much notice of the fittings, those get changed. The one which sis found has a brand new lamp holder.

what colours are the wires, can you see? It’s two core, yes?

Here is picture of wires yea they two core..or is it inside the plug you want to see? 20241208_200400_resize_69.jpg

Yea the one that sis found does look to have new lamp holder and wires but also the lamp itself looks to have very little age to it compared to my example from what im seeing?

Is one side of the cable ribbed?

your lamp holder is fifties or sixties.

Sixties plug, no insulation on the pins and it’s made in England too. The fittings are basically all sixties.

Thank you Ownedbybear so much for the info.

I wonder are the fittings original to the lamp do you think ?
    Thanks again

Hm. I’m leaning towards them not being original, it would have had Bakelite ones at least.
I need to dig around my head a bit more. The closest to this is Shaw and Copestake, who made embellished pots like this.

we need someone who can look up that registry number.
