To moderators I know this is the second sell thread I’ve created, I would have done one but given the difference in the items have done two.
Truly beautiful and unique. The condition looks almost unbelievable. Anyway worth a whole stack of green. Something for the serious collector (with matching deep pockets) Good luck
Very nice. If you can't find a serious buyer for each, you may want to seek out a reputable auction house with a global presence like Bonhams (and be okay with their commission). They have a free valuation service that you can find here->
I think that’s perfectly understandable.. Beautiful items with that much history deserves to be preserved.
You should not sell to anybody without more research. The Cushee globe is not the early one you linked to, so it must be a later edition (note that California is not an island on yours, and first name different). I don’t know how much later, this is important to value. Collectors like to see mistakes on early maps, so later corrected maps are less desired. The link for the Watkins globe that sold included several other items, so value by itself unclear. That doesn’t even address issues of condition or authenticity, which is very hard to judge without seeing and handling in person. Where are you located in the world (Japan or are you just a Sumo fan like me)? Why are you in a rush to sell?
To be fair I’m not in a rush. My concern with the globes is limited space and lack of knowledge to keep them in a good state. I am confident about the authenticity, although any buyer would obviously need to see them. Am UK based. Very nice spot with the globes, I’ll have to take a look at t photos again. Glad to see we exist overseas! Hajimemashite Jefu-san.
From the selling rules: "You must be a participant of the Antiquers.com Forum to post your auction here. A participant is defined as someone who has posted at least ten regular posts in our discussion forums." https://www.antiquers.com/threads/selling-rules.5869/
NHK streaming. I made many business trips to Japan from the US and am a huge fan of the country. Spent a lot of my free time at thrift and flea markets there. (I have even put Toto toilet seats on all of our toilets - a huge luxury)! Hajimemashite Hakuhou-san.
