Featured Sparkle Pin with Patented Clip, Stamped Foundation: Maker?

The patent (1801128) was granted April 1931, an' only deals with the clip. Initially I thought the foundation was cast; on closer examination it now appears to be an embossed stamping from sheet brass. It's ~2 1/8" long, ~1 5/8" wide; weight is ~3/4 oz. Aside from the patent number I can find no mark. Can anyone ID the maker of this? Does the design have a name?

That is a dress clip, not a pin. Yes, the patent is for the clip mechanism. It looks like pot metal to me and I would date it to 1930s-40s

 

I agree with Marie and would add it looks cast, not stamped. Too generic to expect to ID a maker.

 

The patent will only lead to who made the clip mechanism. They were sold to all and sundry. THe OPs came as one of a pair, probably from a five and dime.
