This is an interesting casserole dish. It measures 9.5" across and is 6" high. It's a lovely blue green color. The bottom has a USA mark, but no other maker name. Any thoughts on the maker? casserolegreen1.jpg casserolegreen1.jpg casserolegreen2.jpg casserolegreen3.jpg casserolegreen4.jpg casserolegreen5.jpg

I think both the eBay lister and the Etsy lister were just guessing. I've never seen mention of this piece in any McCoy reference books. McCoy seems to be the default ID for most unidentified pottery. Monmouth is more likely.

That's very interesting. Speaking generally... There are a lot of lazy sellers out there.

Thank you all for the help. I also thought possibly Monmouth, but I thought they were always marked.

Ironically, I saw one of these just yesterday in the thrifts store here. It was a more matte glaze green. It had a chip, otherwise, I would have bought it. That odd USA mark makes me think an import but just a guess.

This type of piece I would say "designed by a man". At least, designed by someone who doesn't cook or bake. This looks like it could go into the oven and that knob seems a bit small for someone wearing an oven mitt or using a potholder. Not much of a knob to grab onto.

Genuinely asking folks who know better than me.... Y'all know for sure that's not meant as "UAS"?

Fashionable design does not worry about function! :D

Don't know for sure but... I certainly read that as USA.

I also read it as USA but after seeing verybrad's comment I'm coming around to the idea that I might has misread it and that it might be an import. Love the assorted colors btw.
