Featured Huge silver monogram brooch- what is it？

Found this extremely large brooch on eBay. Seller said antique cuz it’s not marked, but the clasp is not that old, so ‘could’ be a replacement. There is also a small loop attached for safety pin? But I start to wonder if this piece began its life as something else, since I don’t know who would need such a big brooch?

 

Very nicely executed initials.

First quarter of the 20th century imo, so the seller could be right when they said antique. But there could be several reasons why it isn't marked, origin being one.
The small loop probably held a safety chain and pin.

 

I found another initial brooch with similar flowery detailed sold as art nouveau, so early 20th sounds close but I couldn’t image where it should go on a lady/gentleman’s outfit!
