Asian piece

I received this piece from my grandmother, I don't know anything about it. When she became very old she asked my cousins and I what we wanted. Being an artist I always loved this piece that hung on her wall. I haven't taken it apart to check for markings yet but I didn't see any on the front.

Can anyone tell me possibly what age range, where it may possibly have markings, is it actually hand painted, and what or if there's a meaning to it? Thanks!!
