This is only the second one I've found with engraved marks. They were the ultimate in utilitarian glassware and a lot were probably used until they broke.

Thanks. I figured it was Asian. Finding it sitting on bag sale day surpised me, once I realized it had to be old. Bet I left the stand behind by mistake; I saw one floating around but the wood looked new.

I visited a church craft/bake sale Friday. It was the first time they held a rummage sale, too, this year. The rummage sale was a mess. It was in a very small room, and they had turned away public donations stating "they had enough." The line to get in was 15 people deep after I got in line. The checkout line was 10 people deep, and I suggested they might want to set up the check out line in the hall so people could actually get in the room to look at things. Duh. The jewelry was $1, I am sure I missed some goodies, but got some newer costume to flip. There were three antique dealers set up at the craft show (a first, regulars.) I believe they went to get into the rummage room first. This $5 find was missed by them, sold by someone who brought costume jewelry to sell.

No law for possessing them, but if you are going equipped to steal with them then it's jail time.

I tried the first one on my window lock and it worked, I have had good teachers in the past :D

Suitable for locked drawers and fire safes in cleanouts. Also locked rooms. What you do with the skeletons found within is your problem.

Hahaaa He has lived several extremely interesting lives. In this case though, you may be familiar with the Independent Order of the Oddfellows and their penchant for keeping skeletons for rituals.

From this fun and relevant Atlas Obscura article:
When many lodges disbanded my friend helpfully adopted many of their friendly closet skeletons. :hilarious:
