Featured Costume jools from Down Under

Hadn't heard of this brand, turns out it Aussie. Every time I accidentally buy stuff from Oz, I'm struck at the quality. This is neodymium glass, too.

It cost five guineas in the fifties or sixties, which was one heck of a lot of dosh. I paid less than twice that.

Nice! We never see Aussie bits here at all. I don't think they exported them into the US market. One of the antique groups on Fartnook just had a 9k brooch that was either Aussie or intended for that market. It was a Southern Cross design in gold and amethysts. You can bet I"ll be keeping my eyes peeled.

 

That's a grand slam. Especially the neodymium!!! Did you just get this, or from the hoard?

 

I saw that southern cross it was fabulous.

I just got this one last Saturday at a little table top antiques fair. Ten quid, which is more than I’d normally pay as I’m a cheapskate. I didn’t even notice the branding until I got it home.
