Wondering if anyone recognizes the monogram on this lovely little terracotta bust?

    I'd say it's EB. That's all I got.

I read it as BB. Like the Bill Blass logo sorta.

I was seeing BB as well, but could possibly be EB...interesting. Appreciate the input, as always

Another thing I know nothing about. So for my own education. Does this show a high level of skill? Personally I would have thought “nothing really special”

Hand sculpted, I think it is well-done. And the effort of a professional impressed stamp gives it more cred. There are a lot of small studio potters with the initials EB or BB around the 1950s-1970s with no record of their marks, hence I asked the location to narrow down some possibilities.

This is very much in the style of 50-70s sculpture. There was an emphasis on rougher finishes, natural texture...showing the hand of the artist in the raw material, etc.

The only bit on this I'm not a fan of are the scooped out pupils....but that's a preference thing. I don't like it on any sculpture.

Overall, she's done with decent finess. Her anatomy is slightly exaggerated but intentionally so. There were deliberate choices made with the level of finish. I think it's a sweet portrait.

I know, but I liked it too much to pass on it
