Help identifying this rocker

Hi again .

Came across another piece I'm having difficulty identifying. I was told it's late 19th century but have no clue. It appears to be hand carved with mother of pearl inlays. Any thoughts?

 

Very late 19th Century ca. 1890-1910. Neo-Renaissance, has a mahogany stain.

 

Thanks. As with all the pieces I've posted , it is for use in my house. My plans were to redo the cushion so it can be used. My next question is should I have at it or does it have any value.

 

That's not the original upholstery and doesn't appear to be professionally done. Looks like a 1960s cotton chintz. The chair could well take a heavier fabric and a design more sympathetic to its design.

Perhaps I should rephrase the question. Lol. Does it have any value, if so, I will have it done professionally. If not I'll do it myself and sit on it. Lol

 

not enuf value in todays market to spend hundreds on it........ unless u really like rocking !! imo

 

Not especially. Lol. I'll stick to my plan and redo the cushion myself and put it to use. It's actually quite solid
