I was blessed to win a few nice, big pieces of Southwestern Silver jewelry at a local estate auction. This is one of them: Silver-Native_American-Bracelet-Turquoise-xxHAWKES-gal.jpg

    Silver-Native_American-Bracelet-Turquoise-xxHAWKES-s-E.jpg Silver-Native_American-Bracelet-Turquoise-xxHAWKES-signed.jpg I have 2 questions...
    1) Can anyone ID the artisan: ?? Hawkes
    2) The stones appear to be green turquoise, but with a deep bluish tint that is hard to capture in pictures. Someone suggested it might be malachite, but all the malachite I've ever seen had different, more distinct pattern(s) than this. (I'm no gemologist in any sense of the word.) I'm also wondering if the bits of blue showing, mostly in the stone in 2nd picture, might be azurite?
As always, I am appreciative of any tips you guys can offer...

    Looks like "J.J. Hawkes."

That's my best guess, too, but I haven't been able to find anyone with those initials, yet.

Yep, they look like most of those- and those aren't even all the same! It seems I can never be completely sure with stones...

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Is that 'upside down' from the logo BIRD anything indicative of who the artist is????

I presume it is representative of a HAWK- the artist's name is HAWKES- though the bird doesn't look much like a hawk.

JJ Hawkes is not in my books, nor is anyone else by the name of Hawkes. It is not a very Navajo sounding name, but of course you never know.
So for now it is a SW style cuff bracelet with nice stones.
