Another Basket Identification Thread

Hello!

This was a recent acquisition of mine (from a thrift store). Doesn't look too old to me, but it was certainly a different kind of basket than what I've seen, so I thought I would buy it anyways. It is approximately 20 cm tall. Perhaps someone here knows it origin and age?

Any help is appreciated!

I'd add a plastic liner and use it for paper trash, but I'm weird.

 

Modern. The mottled fiber used to cover the coils is banana leaf, and the stitching looks like a type of palm leaf. So it could come from anywhere the two types of plants occur.
