    Hi everyone!

I've joined the site to ask if someone can help me identify a box but I think I've come across something much better.
Trying to stay off social media these days for all the usual reasons I suppose. But this site seems great! Lots of people with genuine interest in things.

Not a collector myself, but have started to have wander around house clearances and charity shops, just for something to do.
I do study art and I'm enjoying how this seems to fit with my new hobby

So the reason for my post.
I've been looking for an old wooden jewellery box for my daughter.
I've now found one and I'm very happy with it, it's exactly the kind if thing I was looking for.
    My daughter loves it.
If anyone can help give us any info about it, we'd appreciate it.

    Thank you!

Best to post your images full size... :)
(People will probably want to see the bottom of the box, too.)

This isn't social media so much as the old style forum/bulletin boards. It's more about creating community on these, than being faceless in an algorithm.

If you are looking to expand your knowledge in a particular area, you can use the search function here and read old threads. There's a lot of great info to absorb from generous members!

A nice looking box, whatever it was made for originally. We live by photos. In addition to the bottom, as bluumz suggested, could you please post a straight on view of the top, so we can see the carved designs better? With good lighting, some of the furniture people might also be able to identify the wood, which would be an important clue to its origin.
