Chinese Silk Parasol

    The fabric appears to be woven rather than embroidered, with painted additions.

    Maybe a bit of yellow embroidery around the edge and at the very top? I can't quite tell...

    Yes, the yellow on the top it is embroidered. Not sure if my question is accurately asked but can we tell if the woven decoration is commercially made or hand woven(or whatever the right term is)?

    It looks like jacquard to me in some parts - which would argue for machine work. Not sure I'm seeing it right though.
