Hi all, I found this little 1" Black enamel? and sterling charm on a Sterling chain. I know it is for Chi Omega but I couldn't Find the Sterling makers mark anywhere. To my old eyes it looks like a reversed B joined with a P?
    Any and all help appreciated.

In the Greek world, that would be called a lavalier. Vintage. There's only a couple manufacturers of Greek jewelry. Try Balfour.

It could be and just mis struck. That is the closest so far. Thanks INH!

How generous you are with your time, @Marote. That must have taken some effort to find.

Indeed a lot of time. It must have taken me at least 5 .... minutes :hilarious:

I also read it as BP and wasn't convinced it was a misstruck BB. Simply looking for BP marks gave too many results, with all forms of BP, but I didn't know how to narrow down the results, as I didn't know if there was a specific name for such a reversed/mirrored letter. So I searched for the Baskin Bros mark to see if a site would have the name of such letters in the description of the mark. The first hit that showed up, was langantiques.com. The type of letter wasn't described, but it was even better: they have this useful page: angantiques.com/university/makers-marks-2/ :) Searched for BP and there it was :shame:

(It took me longer to write this , than to find the mark )

I was, then realized you were not asking about symbolism, and had easy access to the same Chi Omega Sorority info that I found, so would have been an extraneous comment.
