Hello, my name is Teviya, and I need help finding either info about or a replacement for an item that disappeared from my synagogue's display case. This item was donated by a congregant, and went missing during an artwork inventory.

The item in question is this:

If anyone can tell me even just some basic info that I can use to potentially source a replacement, I would be SO grateful. Thank you in advance!

Hi Teviya, and welcome :) Sorry to read that this art piece has vanished.

Can you please tell us roughly what the dimensions are? It looks dollhouse size to me, but hard to say without a sense of scale.

I'm honestly not sure, but it could very well be dollhouse size. Definitely not much bigger than a foot square on the outside, or else it wouldn't have fit into our display case.

That looks well made....it might have been a custom piece.

Hmm, that table actually came up in my initial Google Images search... might be an avenue to explore.

Need more details, does look like Dollhouse Miniatures
The stemware, if glass might be made by Ferenc Albert or Francis Whittemore
Chrysnbon made display tables, but the one pictured could be an artisan piece
Try searching ebay for Dollhouse miniature + description of each item.

IMHO your chances of finding another are slim. Instead I would devote my time towards turning over every item, looking in every corner, trying to find it. Since it's a miniature, it might just be getting overlooked. There's also the possibility that someone broke it and was too embarrassed to admit it and threw it away. Maybe it's still sitting in the bottom of a box somewhere or mixed in with the trash? You could try getting a bunch of children together, showing them the photo and sending them off to look for it. It has to be there somewhere. Promise the kids a pizza party for their efforts. I would keep looking or stop looking and let it rise to the surface. Just some thoughts

I believe the item was not bought as a complete, but put together from various makers. It would be possible to assemble another very similar set with a little diligence, but would take a bit dollhouse miniature knowledge. There are mini artisans that specialize in Jewish items. A quick search on ebay, I found the same base table by Chrysnbon for $12. plastic goblets for less. The cake, framed item and crochet tablecloth would be harder to find, maybe special order from an mini artist. Tiny plates, napkins easy. Good Luck and I hope your find the original!
