I've had this blow mold owl since my childhood. I will never part with it: Screenshot_20240823_204744_Chrome.jpg

We also had the jack o lantern, along with a paper skeleton with metal joints, and also a cardboard cat.

I can understand. There is something about Halloween memories from being a kid that never go away. Enjoy it. It looks like fun.

That's vintage, not antique. Don't make me feel so old!

Ah, I see you've now changed the title from "antique" to "vintage".

The only vintage pieces I have are a couple pieces of paint-your-own ceramics. One painted by each grandmother. It's my fav holiday and I enjoy seeing the stuff in stores, but I've come to the realization I enjoy making my own decor. It has that older, more tactile vibe I like. Like how we used to make our own costumes before the corps sucked the fun out of it. :vamp:

I think Halloween's my fave too-prob started w/ Mickey Mouse in the 'Sorcerer's Apprentice' and 'Night On Bald Mountain' Fantasia segments,or maybe 'The Wizard of Oz' ?
Plus it was the freedom of being a kid getting let off the parental leash for a few hours at night mooching candy-unchaperoned !

Halloween was always the best. No worry about what religion you are, candy, dressing up for fun, seeing kids enjoying themselves, homes decorated that are boo-tiful.

Re: handmade decorations. One year, my daughter had copied The Simpsons dressed in Halloween outfits. All coloured in with pencil crayons. It was cute, so I stuck it on the front door and just about every kid, big or small, commented on it. :D

It's also my birthday! The story is that dad got pulled over on the way to the hospital because kids were trick or treating and he was speeding. When he said his wife was having a baby, the cop gave him an emergency escort to the hospital. Do cops still do that kind of thing any more? Prob not: too many legal issues.

Sometimes the cops will help out if they get a call that a baby is on the way.

What a great day to have a birthday.
