    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

That's a really good idea, Lloyd. Back in New Mexico, still in school, I did that for some homeowners. Knocked on doors with examples of my drawings, offered to do their house for... I think 25 bucks. Made enough money to buy clothes and makeup my mother wouldn't allow me to buy. Had to hide that stuff at girlfriends' houses.

Very nice, Lloyd249. What a great price on a useful item (and an attractive item to boot). ;)

That amber one is classic Murano. I suspect the other is Sklo.

Despite my furniture faux pas at the Friday auction, the Wednesday auction produced some interesting items among the china and odds and ends that form the majority of our buys. Sadly the pigs are base metal.

That's a sweet looking cameo. Carved or costume?

Carved I think. Cameo mount swivels on pins top and bottom, revealing the back which is a glass compartment which is empty apart from material backing and a surround gilt cord (would once have had a lock of hair?)

Yup, hair. Any chance of a photo of the back of it? Looks decently done, late 19th C or a bit earlier. Might be bettter than gilt, too.

Did you buy that studio in Maplins? ;)

Cleaned her up a bit and photo of back (repaired C clasp)

Maplins, think I'm some kind of cheapskate??

(found it at back of an auction lot :) )

Lovely carving and the back says late 19th. Gilded pot metal, indeed. I know these cameos were churned out in Naples by the tens of thousands, but I'm always amazed at just how good they can be. I'm quite surprised it's not a silver or gold frame on that one, it deserves it.

    Mine was Maplins. ;)
