I am a working artist (oil painter) turned antiques dealer through the necessity of making ends meet. I am following in the footsteps of my mother and grandmother who were also antiquers. As a result, I have a strong start on rudimentary knowledge as I explore selling antiques in the e-commerce environment.

My purpose for being here is actually with a long term goal in mind: to paint. My strategy is divided into three steps: 1) Buy my own house in full. 2) Carve a short-term career in the antiques industry--enough so that I can invest my earnings into a rental property, or into a well-managed portfolio. 3) Exit the antiquing business and paint full time once I become financially stable through step 2.

Think I am daydreaming? Think again. I already accomplished Step 1. I bought a 5 bedroom house at age 25 and paid it off by 35--when everyone else was losing theirs to foreclosure. Now I just have to meet step 2. I know I will. It will just take time.

Though my ultimate goal is really to paint, I still have a genuine appreciation of antiques and will always hold on to a personal collection that is sentimental to me. In the mean time, though it is amazingly hard work, I am going to enjoy both my careers through thick and thin. Wish me luck!
