Beautifully done Boy and his large Dog. They are bisque and the ground they are standing on is Majorlica. In a previous entry I show the base with the only marking I could find, the number 27 done in what looks like the same goldish brown paint that is on the base. Can anyone identify this piece? I have looked on and off for months. Thank you!

      hi Va. Nichols.
very adorable boy and dog figurine.

the base looks okay to me but the gilding is a problem. it's too shiny for an antique. Also the colors are too pristine. if this was an antique piece we should see some lose of gild because of use.

i think its a 20th century piece. it could be produced anywhere; Japan, China, Russia. the way the dog is painted reminds me the Lomonosov figurines. some of Lomonosov pieces are unmarked but the number under the bottom and the boy tells me this is not an Lomonosow piece
