Kyusu teapot top

I've inherited a vintage teapot from my great-great grandmother which had a note inside identifying it as a 'Chinese teapot circa 1670'. From what I can gather from online searches, it looks more like a Japanese kyusu teapot but I can't tell if the characters are Chinese or Japanese and whether they give any indication to the date or artist. I'm not wishing to sell it and I'm sure the cracked top has devalued it anyway, but I would be very interested in getting more information about its origins. Thanks
