A sword made from 1926 to 1944, in the Showa period, I can not see well the hamon in this picture neither the tsuba motif and other accessories. But at list you have the picture of signature but not to clear, so I try to figure out:

Made for WWII mainly in Seki location, he is from one of 200 certified sword smith’s for the Army headquarter of Japan at wartime production of good work line of blade for officer army.
    • SoKiku
He sign under his swordsmith name: 武山 義臣,
Takayama Yoshiomi. and real name is 数雄.

This is relic of WWii for Japan, Too many are still outside that should be return and bought back by Japanese or to they family ancestor, it must be taken with care, and respect since is a piece of history. So I resolved your question.
