Inside center drawer

About 30 years ago I acquired an antique Railroad Desk I noticed this on the inside of the center drawer some letters and numbers. I've attached the photo of it. Is there anything you can tell me about it ? I'll attach a finished picture of it too. Thanks, Jerry
