      I agree and i know very well there never were coat hooks, I've looked very carefully. Maybe in the States it's normal to have the coat hooks but here in the UK I don't think so much. It's a stick/umbrella stand, simple as that. But I do like it and just wondered if it was by "anyone" really. I know it's a period piece, the lady I bought it from has had it in the family for years. It's just nice and simple
