I have an antique wall clock that I need info on.

I started to take it apart because it doesn't work. And I'll probably sell the works and use the case as a display piece. But, I realized it's different than other clocks I've had. There's the brass piece and spring on the side of the inside. The brass piece is wired to the 2 buttons(?) or knobs(?) on the outside of the case.

Is this clock special? What are the extra parts for? Thanks for any help!

 

What does it say on the frame under the winder shaft? Looks like a patent date around arms shaft, or some other writing.

I'm no clock expert, but that big spring looks like it doesn't belong there. Maybe someone who knows clocks, like @komokwa can tell you what you have

 

The spring was hooked to the upper left inside corner. The other end is attached to a lever.

The brass ring under the hands? It has the number 1-12.

 

Also it's an Ingraham Clock. Made in Conn.

I had to bring it in under a light and look at it with a magnifier.

 

I've been looking at Ingraham Dew Drop wall clocks on Worthopedia. I haven't found one with the extra parts yet. But I think I need to put it back together and sell it.

 

I'll go out on a limb, and suggest that the 2 outside knobs are electric connections ... that made the spring heat up , to light up the clock face.

It burned the face and was dismantled..

 

I think u confuse me with another of higher authority ...

 

I have the face. It was one of the first things I took off. It was the only way to see the works inside.

But those do look like electrical connections.
