This signature says Morgan but no first name. Normally I would just give up but the style is distinctive I wonder if anyone has seen this artist before and who he might be 10693024_571.jpg 43786071_5710.jpg 28344640_574.jpg sig.jpg 2458394_577.jpg . thanks.

the hardware and staples say it's got no age........and the over the top frame say it's couch art........and unless someone can find that tree....i couldn't even guess where the image is from..........
so ........Morgan......may not matter who they are....
    imo....;)

Yes, I'd view with caution too. Another red flag is the artificial aging to the canvas back.

What do folks think of the frame does it look like someone would put a nice frame like that on decorative art? Or is the frame cheap.

It doesn't look like the normal french tourist stuff cause that is usually the eiffel tower etc with lots of shops and stuff

while it's a nice looking frame.......u can see from the back....different boards glued together...and those V shaped tacks ......that's newer dime a dozen stuff.

it's a fancy looking frame that makes folks think the artwork...must be high quality.............
    it's a case of ...don't judge the art....by the frame !

The frame looks like the ones on factory art. Even if it is factory art, it is an attractive painting.

Please upload your pictures to the site. Few members will click on links from people they do not know.

And for what it's worth, the original post was over 3 years ago.

Your pictures are very likely too large for the 1MB limit here. You can resize by emailing them to yourself as "medium size," save the resized version, and then try uploading again.

I have a pair my mother had:
Same sort of backing of frame, which is so ornate. Don’t know anything about Morgan, except an impressionist.

I know this is an old thread but I believe that looks like Alfred Morgan! Painter from 1800's. I think I also picked up one of his pieces at an estate sale and was doing some research. Posting to help anyone who may also be searching!

Unless you can match the signatures, there's no reason to believe that's the work of Alfred Morgan.

Plus they weren't using staples in the 1800s ;)

LOL probably not though staples have been around for quite some time and he didn't die until the 1920s. Wonder what is behind that black framing! Could've been tightened at some point with staples, but you are both probably correct think there may be another MORGAN! Thanks :)
