Help with age and ID of Balinese figure clothed with real coins

Just sitting on a shelf at Goodwill for $7.00 USD. He stands 15" tall including the base
There must be over 100 of what look like Chinese coins?
I would like to find out more about this interesting piece.

From the look of the wood, and the rather simple carving on the headdress, yours is probably fairly recent (mid-late 20th century would be my guess).

Probably around 2000. Over the last few decades they have been experimenting with different styles which look to be based on dancers' headdresses.
Her headdress is different from the older ones, her face is thin and the colour of the wood is very light.
The faces and headdresses of the older ones are more like traditional 'cili' or Dewi Sri rice dolls, with almost triangular faces and a wide, fan-shaped headdress.

Her hands should be touching each other in prayer. If you can't push them together, best leave them as they are.
