No idea about this one, chatelaine? Waistcoat chain? Something else?

  1. Hi All,
unlike my other post, i don't have a clue about this one. Two fancy bar links each 2 1/2" (6.5cm) long, very dainty machine etching but heavy/chunky rings. There's no marks so could be nickel plated? On the large ring was an old compass but it didn't sit well there so maybe it should have been on the other end of the piece? The compass oil filled (I think) and has bevelled glass which is not so common in modern pieces. Does anyone have any idea what this is, who might have used it or what it was for or even if it's complete?
    Thanks, Debbie

    I agree, the remnants of a watch-chain.
