Does all amber floresce?

I'm sure you all get tired of asking the same amber questions so apologies in advance but I'm running a little short on time to search through past threads on the subject.

I just came home with an amber chip necklace and what I think are amber and sterling earrings. When I put the black light on them the necklace looks great but there's no big reaction from the earrings. The flecks in them light up but not the bead itself. Is this still amber?

    Thank you all!

It could be bonded amber, of a type similar to 'Polybern' from the GDR. Polybern is mostly synthetic, with the occasional small amber chip.

Since the flecks are tiny, it could also be 100% synthetic, with the flecks being an artificial material that happens to fluoresce.:( The earrings look like a craft job, so there is no telling what it is.:sorry:

Oh boo hiss, that's annoying! I got them to sell in a lot with my actual sterling and amber earrings. I'll look again with the blacklight but maybe I'll just have to keep them. Theres silver in there anyway.

    Thanks AJ! :D

The salt water test is a good test, but it only works with all amber pieces. Silver beads and findings will sink to the bottom, pulling any amber beads with them.

My grandmother gave me an, what looks to be amber, old necklace that needs restringing.
I've stared at those beads for, I think hours, trying to work out what it exactly is. I think I see bugs, bubbles and leaves but I stopped researching it because I was starting to doubt what I was seeing
