We had acquired this shaker bucket at the Brimfield MA event this September. The seller claimed it to be a 19th century bucket which I remain skeptical of. However whatever age it may be it's a marvelous bucket we now use to collect our chicken eggs in. It has an excellent fit and finish and we are delighted to have it around. Anyone know of as good reference book for new england buckets baskets and the like? I’m looking for a couple of reference books for the 19th century homewares. That should definitely help a bit. I haven’t the slightest idea how many rings a “shaker” bucket would have or what constitutes differences between buckets of this style. Surprisingly the wooden bucket has been working famously for the collecting of eggs. We aren’t exactly aggressive with putting the eggs inside so they are surviving their trek into our kitchen. We have 24 in our flock and are adding more this weekend. Nowhere near the buckets capacity as of now. I’ll be needing to build ourselves a small stand soon to sell the surplus.

There are definitely a couple buckets on there which are strikingly similar. Not much info on them but helpful to see others out there

In case you didn't notice, (and I should have mentioned in my first post) there will be more information about each individual object if you click on the image, including their dimensions.

I did see that you could select the images. They have limited information based on which item I selected. Not a bad resource but nothing definitive.
