We are known (and appreciated for the results;)) for "launching Mi5 investigations" to help members to find out about their piece.
But after reading your post, obviously you weren't seeking for help:facepalm:, so... Good luck for the sale:rolleyes:

Tabitha, I'm sure you read other threads before posting your set. Investigation is what we do, for our own items and for other people's items. That is what we are known for and it is the main reason why people come here.
I don't know what you paid for it, but remember, people may not want to pay your asking price. I wish you good luck.

I saw Tabitha's necklace set on an eBay auction that ended Sept. 10 at £8.50 ($11.60). The photos and description were the same as posted here. Since Tabitha had it valued at 20x that, she’s saying it could be worth about £170.00 ($223.00). That seems optimistic compared to what a person could pay for a strand of cultured pearls, sapphire briolette beads, and the jewelry findings. Edit: But maybe the connection to a movie short would add the extra value for some buyers.

    Very optimistic.
I don't think there would be many aficionados of a relatively unknown short film, and they will want proof. A true fan is more MI5 than we are.:playful:

The seller's description said it was valued at £2700. They didn't include the connection to the movie short in their description, but stated they would provide more details of provenance if messaged, which Tabitha must have done. A lot of red flags in that auction.

Yes I knew 2700 was a crazy price and I didn't believe it - that's why I brought it to a jewellers. I knew there were red flags but I didn't mind because it was such a bargain.

Thank you! By the way, I forgot to mention, but I paid about £30 in total for it (postage) so I was including that in the 20x. So that's about £600.

Also I did question the Crosely Diamonds story but he stuck to his guns and I have no evidence he's lying so I have to believe him. Thank you all for your contributions I didn't mean to sound harsh earlier haha

Just a word of caution for future purchases, it doesn't always turn out well to believe what a buyer is saying if there's no evidence that would cause you not to believe him. This purchase turned out well for you, but if you're ever a little skeptical in the future about an item you're considering buying, you can post information here--like many others have--and the experts will be happy to offer their opinions/advice, and you can choose whether or not to take it.

Money laundering maybe? It happens, and he is clearly not specialised in or even knowledgeable about jewellery. It appears to be sold, but only a complete ignoramus with deep pockets would pay that much for a craft job like this, so I smell a rat.

I thought I saw an eBay notice at the top that the seller ended the listing because of an error. He included a diamond color grade in the item specifics, but not in the later auction listing.

He may already regret his purchase.
I noticed he also didn't show a maker's mark. I wonder if there is one.
