Karma. I think I told the story of grabbing someone who sells jewellery and pointing her at a MASSIVE table of good stuff after I'd rummaged. The next day she gifted me something I admired.

Yesterday, she gave me this because I asked the price. I didn't realise quite what it was, but loved its art deco-ness. I know what it is now.

It is in my Hoard and all the more treasured because I like her!

Jean Painleve pieces are rare to find, let alone be gifted for free!

 

I try to do that for ppl when I find out they have a huge interest in something I have lying around.

A guy came to sell us an AC last year, and saw my Panel Truck in the driveway. He started talking about how he used to love watching the cars at the dragstrip as a kid, and he mentioned one by name. He was probably in his late 50s. I had a paper from that dragstrip from 1979 in my garage. I went out, got it, and showed it to him. He said WOW NO WAY! THAT'S AWESOME! I said glad you like it, bc it's yours. You should have seen his face.
