I have to admit, the sunset pix were my favorites of the lot.

My find of the day was in Goodwill. I found a piece of Southwestern souvenir pottery and left it on the shelf for someone else to find. (not my thing) Somebody else snagged it and I was able to read part of the bottom for him. Turns out his hobby is making unusably heavy walking sticks.(LOL)

How do you get them home on a bike?

I carry them in my panniers. Sometimes I'll ship them from one of those packaging stores.

I was gonna say! Couldn't find amazing small and less fragile pieces, huh? Isn't that always the way. But you just have to make it work when you find excellent things!

To be completely honest, there's an aspect of how stupid it all is that really appeals to me.

    Very nice everyone.
The pots are divine. The stamp on the bottoms.. I sold mugs with that stamp many years ago and they did nicely.

Signature ‘Hans ‘90’ or 96’? Complete amateur piece? (also has some glue for extra measure) Stands about 28cm tall and the wooden base is 20cm wide. Thanks

You can't really go wrong for $2. I probably would have left it behind if I was on my bicycle ;).

I would have grabbed it. Keep researching the signature. It would make a fabulous necklace display- I can picture a nice big squash blossom necklace on it!

Attended a summer antique show yesterday. You won't be seeing any gold jewelry with the cost of gold now....I was shocked talking to a dealer friend what gold is up to. A few things. Some cufflinks and a sterling cross for my brother, the lot was $20.

That's a nice haul. I'd look for gold anyway; you'd be surprised what slips through when people don't know their marks. I look for copper too, for no other reason than I like copper.

Or who don't care to look for marks. I just got an 18k chain this afternoon for a euro. It was in a tray of cheap modern costume and the seller was a civilian. Its only 1.15g but ofc worth more than what she wanted for it. When we were going through our storage unit last year, my mother said she had some nice bits of costume jewelry she got in the 80s. I took a look at the pile and 99% of it was 14 or 18k. When your relative says they don't have anything 'precious' don't trust em! :hilarious:

I once scored two 18k chains from a pile of "costume". The seller runs an antique store and either totally missed the marks or thought they were phony. They weren't phony. $50 in jewelry turned into $2000 at the pawn shop. It won't happen twice, but a girl can dream.

I'm always looking for gold. If there was any, the other dealers surely scooped it up buying amongst themselves before they let the public in.

A friend was going to sell her costume jewelry at a yard sale. Good thing I louped it and know my jewelry.

    Pools of Light!
Just one, but I'll take it!
It was attached to a necklace of cheap freshwater pearls and dyed stone beads.
I quickly liberated it from the strand and made a connector with a rutilated quartz bead.
It looks better now, I think!
