Many years ago my mother gave me a pair of pillowcases she had cross-stitched & tatted a lace edge. However, when we got a king-sized bed they ended up sitting in the linen closet for years because they were too small for the pillows. One of my sister's friends was pretty crafty & volunteered to make them into angel dolls. I am not sure what happened to the one Kathy got as I couldn't find it after she died. Mine is sitting on top of one of my barrister bookcases in my office & is leaning against a needlepoint pillow I made for her.

Oh I do. I was horrified and saddened. The tight weave is what really attracted me. At the time I didnt know its origins,in fact I thought it native american !

My grandmother used to embroider. I wore everything out.
Do you think it was a NA tool?

I tried. Both were inert. The custard beads on the necklace glowed though. Haven't tested the rest for bakelite/celluloid yet.

No I really don’t think so. It might have some story to tell, but’s is probably just naturally shaped. I just think it’s a cool object. I find it strangely very tactile (but it’s probably just me :))

I finally get to post here. Had a great day at the vide grenier (car boot). 32 euros got me the items below, plus a handmade wood salad bowl, another Alphonse Mouton vase, two cotton blouses, a pair of like new platform ankle boots, and a nice pair of trousers. Winning!

I'll post these in their proper places too, have some questions.

10 euros for the lot of jewelry and the watch. The beads in the middle are ceramic, some listed online says AD. Two coral necklaces, a bit of silver, and an 800 silver chain c1890 ish?

Saw this from a semi professional and LOVED it. Asked the seller how much, preparing myself for the 15 or 20 euro answer. Nope, she said THREE. In great condition, I've seen similar online that say its 50s perhaps? Hard to photograph, its a bit more vivid in person.

You're correct. It may well be. I apologize for being too precipitous. Curiously, there are lots of Alberto Fioro watches floating around the internet but no information on the designer.

From the 1 photo, & lacking measurements, I wonder if this is a wine coaster?

Concur with cxgirl that it's a watch fob that has never been engraved.

You are correct, I just discovered it myself today whilst browsing decanters :D
A wine bottle or even a smaller based decanter will fit right in.

It was really a day for ceramics at the jumble sale yesterday, but I did get a few bits of crochet that are soaking in Oxy atm.
The Chinese plate is 18th century I believe, cost 50p, the glass dish may be Fenton and needs descaling, £1. Nobody wanted the large 18 inch wide willow pattern platter for £3, I went back at the end of the sale and got it for £1.50, these don’t seem to be objects of desire here in UK now unless rare patterns and perfect. This one has a couple of edge chips.

@Houseful your Fenton bowl pattern is "Peacock Tail" and looks to be marigold color. Some people call it Peacock Feather.
