The odd brown shapes at about 7 oclock on the first plate are bakelite, or sure want to be. I'm not a button collector, but I think you got your money's worth!

I went hunting today at a "whole neighborhood" tag sale. Spent $20 at the first one, $5 at the second stop, and could have done without the rest. Spent $7 at an estate sale on the way home. Got sterling flatware at both of them, including sterling handle corn holders!

Woolworths was so much fun to go to and look at the goodies.
Ornies that have original box is another added bonus.

I'm glad I woke up early after a 1am start time for work last night!

Risked 4 euros on this 72g necklace marked 925, and this little cross with a lozenge makers mark.
The silver is a bust, zero positive with the acid so I 'got done' there. But the cross tested between 4 and 18k! 2.1g :woot: I then looked at the two marks under a loupe for the first time, lovely old eagle head! I didnt think it was 18k because the acid very slowly dissolved the test scratch, whereas the 14k held strong. If it's old enough they sometimes marked 18k on 15/16k right? I'm trying to determine if it's the -1849 or the -1990 eagle lol. Also that makers mark is a blur. :banghead:

My grandmother could make those woven buttons, she taught me how. I’ve actually got some of those hook and eye cards, too.

Haven't posted in awhile. Heat has kept me home some but still out and about finding at a slower pace. Posting just the highlights today. Have bought some stemware and such that I am not showing.

Continue to find some sterling. Most is coming from a small town charity thrift that either doesn't know or care to check. Usually only hit this one once or twice a month. May have to start going more but it is about 20 miles away. Compote was $2.59. Divided dish was $1.09. Think this is the 4th or 5th of these I have. Must have been a popular wedding present... LOL!

This perfume bottle was from the same thrift. Marked Czechoslovakia. Was $4.59. Have cleaned it some but need to do more. Actually had some leafy bits inside.

This came from the local Goodwill for only $3.00. Surprised they priced it so low. Bohemian? Any idea of maker?
    thriftglass72.jpg

Bronze temple bell with mallet was $4.00. Came with a cheap stand that I may try and re-work..... in all my spare ambitious time .... or not :woot:

Silver bracelets. Openwork one is marked Italy .925. Was $2.09 at the out of town thrift. Bangle was $4.00 from a local thrift. Is unmarked so could be plated.

This one has proper Mexican marks. The stone appears to be resin. Was $5.00.

Best find this month is this Fulper vase. This is the smallest size of this but the glaze is killer. Properly marked with no chips or cracks but the out of town thrift only priced it $2.09! Love when I find something that will actually go in my collection for cheap.

This large sweetgrass basket was $3.00.
    thriftbasket2.jpg

Medium sized Indian puzzle-box. Was $2.00.

This 21" long Viking Epic centerpiece bowl was $4.00.

This 2 ft. tall Mexican copper repousse' piece was $6.00.

But got this nice stained glass bowl for about $3 (42cm across) Fruit bowl probably? But it feels a little delicate/fragile for my liking. Any way to guess the age?
