Featured Thoughts on this garnet ring?

    Bought it in 2022 or so, sold to me as georgian. It's burnt 18ct gold with a rose cut garnet, heart shaped if upside down? Can't make out the origin or style, what do you think? 1.jpg

    It looks like a pretty generic ethnic style. Could we see the band?

    It also has tiny inscription inside, roughly read as:
    X21262
    T1PS1 or similar

    Intriguing ring. Certainly antique, but not a Georgian style I know. If it is ethnic, as I think, the age is difficult to establish.

    It's old but doesn't look English in the least. Not sure of its first language.

    I wonder if those are inventory numbers,like from a museum. Im no jewelry expert but I thought it older than Georgian as well. Is the band a replacement or am I way out of my wheelhouse ?

    Probably a jeweler's invoice number for the poor soldering repair of the separated band at the bezel.

    I thought about museum coding too! But nah they don't really carve that directly onto the object :hungover:
