Help identifying items

I have the following items but have no clue if they have any value. I was hoping to get an appropriate estimate for resale value. Thank you in advance for any opinions or advice. Darrell

You could google 1920's Jacobean style .....having you checked the drawers/backside for manufacturer labels/stencils.

 

Hi, thanks for the information on the desk. I have not checked for any kind of makers marks or labels. I will look for more information this weekend.

 

Desk is circa 1940. Unfortunately, not a lot of value. I posted a similar one at a thrift store for sale at $8.00 here (scroll down).

Now, I think yours a more desirable form with the bombe drawers but not significantly so. Yours also seems to be in a bit worse condition. I do think it worth more than $8.00 but not a whole lot more. Somewhere under $50.00.

Your other two pieces are circa 1925. Again, value is not particularly high. I can get similar pieces easily at under $100 each. At retail, they would be under $200.00.

I am in the Midwest where values on brown furniture are very low.. You might do better on either coast and the Southeast, though Florida also seems to be pretty cheap. Large city values may also be higher.

China cabinet and buffet here in the US. Your desk exhibits elements of Chippendale style, though quite watered down. The other two pieces are loosely based on William and Mary style furniture. US makers started mixing and matching style elements in the 20th century. Your pieces are examples of this trend It often gets termed traditional revival or depression era furniture. This pretty much ended post-WWII, when colonial revival and modern became the predominate trends.

I'm in central Connecticut. Those sorts of pieces do sell in thrift stores here, but not for a lot of money. Desks are usually just boat anchors; they don't sell until marked down to pretty much nothing. They're good quality though and usable.

 

I'm in Michigan and have no clue if any of this stuff is desirable here. I think it's really well made and cool, might just end up keeping it for myself if there is no market. Thanks!
