I never counted on The Doctor , being a gal.....but she rocked !!!!

 

My Sinbad lobby cards and poster arrived today! I love how, in Spanish, it's SIMBAD.

 

If all goes well tomorrow I will have some new autographs to share tomorrow! I'm gonna be awake all night!! Stay tuned!!

 

I only have a few movie posters framed above our media collection. A Thor Ragnarok one since I worked on that set and I liked the art and movie, and a set of S. Korean mini posters for The Good, The Bad, The Weird (you read that right... ) because I love it. I have a mini for Fury Road I've not framed. I hope I get to add some more that I work on in future, but they're always big and I don't have much wall or storage space!

A customer gave my husband a The Great Bank Robbery one as a random gift because he asked her if she was related to the screenwriter...and she was and had the poster in her car!

 

So....

I will have to post pics later tonight, but I both met, and got autographs from, John Carpenter and John Rhys-Davies today!!

John RD signed my ROTLA poster that I honestly don't know if it's 100% or not (think it is). He seemed to think it was, but based on the autograph, it no longer matters!!

I simply need to stop looking at movie posters.

Star Wars Episode 1 is currently back in theatres, and for giggles, I looked online to see what they were going for. I ended up buying one, along with 6 others in one bundle. Good buy? Yes! Did I need them? Not whatsoever!!

I told my daughter that it was still a good move, as they will probably be worth more when I myself am "one with the Force"

 

LOL Never buy for investment, just buy for yourself because you love it, and you still win. I'm not sure I have any Ep1 posters left. I enjoyed them for a while on the wall and then passed them on.

 

I know that I have one of the advanced ones somewhere, where Anakin was walking and you could see the Vader shadow behind him on the building, but not sure where that one is at the moment. The one that is on the way is the traditional one.

 

The set of 7 posters arrived today. The Episode 1 one is double sided! I was happy to see that.

I have to promise myself to not buy any more of them for a long time!

 

I picked up 2 movie posters today for $10, one is for the 1996 movie THINNER and one is for THE SAINT.

They are single sided, so I'm trying to figure out if they're original or not. I keep thinking about how when I was a kid, there were stores like Spencer's where you could go in and buy movie posters, so I hope these aren't from there.

The Saint (97) is one of my absolute favorite movies. I love a good thief or spy movie.

You didn't give dimensions, but the advance one sheet teasers looked like this and are large. You'd have to check dimensions against color variants. As a big The Saint fan, I will say there isn't a huge market lol so this is probably less an investment piece as a you'll-enjoy-it piece. The main version with Val's face is more popular, but still very cheap.

 

Thanks! I love that movie too and loved Val in it. When I was younger I actually looked alot like him!

The dimensions for the Saint poster were like 26.75" by 40, just a hair smaller than the Thinner movie one.

I paid $10 for both, so no complaints here at all!

 

I am still trying to conclude how these posters can only have printing on one side- did the types of posters maybe differ by region? Or country? I see a bunch of the Thinner ones online and they are showing as double-sided. I do know that there are counterfeit printers running all day long these days, too.

 

As with any merchandising for national brands, there are usual a number of variations. If there are, the posters would carry codes for correct distribution. Do you see codes?

I'll have to look again this weekend. I've seen codes on older posters, but don't know for sure what might be on a 1996 poster.
