Tapestry, Hand Made?

Hello Everyone!

I did it again, ended up at an auction while out of town for work.... my car is now loaded to the brim. I bought this tapestry without knowing much, but for 3 dollars I couldn't pass it up.
I will post some better pictures when I get home tomorrow, but here is one from the preview. It says made in France on the reverse. Was looking for some direction to find the age and what to look for as far as value/authenticity is concerned.

These tapestries were made in France and Belgium
I've always thought the time period to be around 19teens to about 1930. But have nothing to substantiate.

For $3.00 you did fine.
Unfortunately these are very slow sellers. Framed you will find them priced anywhere from $45-$125.
Unframed should be marked lower.

Sounds like your hands and arms were 'windmilling' around at that auction.
I've seen this one before and I would grab it at $3 too but I've no idea of actual value.

 

These tapestries were common souvenirs from Europe after WWII. My uncle brought some home for my mother and aunts. Sometimes you see them framed.
